Ebay no longer handling FedEx's blatantly wrong overcharges
So for the second time in three weeks FedEx has told me my 4 lb golf club shipment weighs 60 lbs and thusly charged me an extra $32. The first time I called Ebay support it was pretty standard and they handled it perfectly. I received my refund in about ten days. This morning I had to call again for the same issue and was asked if I had been informed on how to avoid this situation going forward. I told the agent I hadn't but am an Ebay vet and know all about dimensional shipping. I asked her to please go ahead and provide the information that she thought I should have. In a nutshell she said the first claim I made was a courtesy credit and that going forward I should buy my labels directly from FedEx to avoid this type of issue. Two things, she made it sound like Ebay won't be handling any issues you have with their FedEx labels when you choose FedEx. Secondly it made FedEx appear to be able to overcharge willy nilly because there's no recourse for Ebay sellers.
Has anyone heard this or dealt with this. It seems FedEx is offering such low prices as a gateway to be able to overcharge after delivery...sounds conspiratorial but for me twice in three weeks is shady. We're not talking about being an inch or few ounces off, FedEx is missing the marking by 50+ lbs twice. To think I won't have any recourse on such blatant mistakes which result in $30-40 overcharges is very concerning.
Any thoughts or opinions are greatly appreciated.
