ebay needs to work on how offers are presented to seller

Question

received an offer for $8 on a $9 item. after i accepted the offer was really $2 and they bought a quanity of four at that price to make matters worse, ebay did not show shipping until seller paid and when they did paid the shipping was for just one item and four items would be much more anyone have a similar issue? wasnt happy and now i probably wont entertain offers because of this

@joego23 I am so sorry that happened. It sounds like the offer showed as $8 because it was for a quantity of 4. You could contact eBay and let them know they need to make it clearer when an offer is for a QUANTITY of X amount and not just one.

I have some tips if you'd like them for how to list something like this in the future to avoid issues with price and shipping.

I would recommend using a variation listing as listings where "you pick" are not allowed. Then the buyer can choose the item they want and you can also set up a combined shipping rule so that the buyer pays the correct amount for additional items. You can also use shipping rules on other listings.

Variations are not available in all categories. If you do not see the variation option after trying these steps please reply back with what the item is you are trying to list.

To create a variation listing you will need to use the new listing tool while working from your computer. The new listing tool can be accessed through Seller Hub.

To access Seller Hub:

1. Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/landing

2. Click Start Using Seller Hub

3. Then, go here to your active listings page:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active and click the blue Create listing button near the top, right-hand side of the page.

Variations can only be created when using the Buy It Now format. When using the new listing tool, in the pricing section make sure you have selected the Buy It Now format.

If you do not see the variations option, click on the 3 dots on the upper right-hand side of the listing form, then select Settings (gear icon) and click on the variations toggle so it turns blue.

Please note: The Variation Attribute name cannot be the same as eBay's default item specifics.

You may also want to set up a calculated or flat shipping rule in your account settings so that your buyers pay the correct shipping for additional items when they purchase more than one from your listing.
