Ebay needs to offer warnings when the seller uses Amazon to fulfill orders.
I use Ebay specifically so that I can avoid buying things on Amazon. When the seller uses Amazon to fulfill the orders they receive, it defeats my purpose of using ebay. I wish ebay would let buyers know that the seller is doing this.

Ebay does not know if the seller uses Amazon to fulfill their orders.

OP1 year agoEbay could implement what I’m asking for. It wouldn’t have to “knowâ€. It could require that sellers inform shoppers that they use Amazon to fulfill orders. Buyer's negative feedback for the drop-shipped item could be considered legitimate and not deleted.

Mentor1 year agoFolks that are already breaking the rules by retail drop-shipping will not think twice about breaking a rule about hiding the fact that they are drop-shipping from Amazon, so buyers will still have to take steps to avoid buying from drop-shippers if that is their intention regardless of what policy eBay implements.
It may not be possible to always identify in advance those users who drop ship, but it is possible to identify some common characteristics of illicit retail drop shippers or other under-performing sellers, and thus avoid the worst of them.
Often they can be spotted by a combination of low feedback number, free shipping of heavy items, use of stock photos, high handling time (not necessarily if they are using Amazon, though), poor feedback received with complaints of delays and wrong items or out of stock cancellations, very odd item selection and/or quantities like items were chosen at random from a catalog, canned item descriptions scraped from another site, differences between registration location and item location (or vague item location -- like "US, United States"), or inability to answer even basic questions about the items being sold.

OP1 year agoI want to leave negative feedback, mentioning that the drop-shipping is the reason that I will never order from the seller again. I know that sellers can request ebay to remove negative feedback. Negative feedback is the only repercussion that drop-shippers face, so it needs to stick.

Mentor1 year agoSome sellers sell on both ebay and Amazon, and have their inventory stored at Amazon warehouses. That is OK with both Amazon and ebay. What is NOT OK with Amazon and ebay is for the seller to list an item, and when it sells, they go purchase it from Amazon using their Prime account for free shipping. You will know this happens if you receive a "Gift" receipt with the purchase. Leave calm factual feedback.

·1 year ago@disneyshopper provides a good possible explanation of how they might not be violating any policies, but if they are (based on the order including a "Gift" receipt from Amazon as they mentioned), you can report the seller. I can't guarantee eBay will take action, obviously, but if no one reports them eBay isn't going to know.
You can use the link here to report them: https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
I would select the option that "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies" on the first screen, and then just "Other" on the next screen since there isn't a close fit, and put in the comments that the seller appears to be violating the Drop Shipping policy found here: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/drop-shipping?id=4176
Specifically, you can reference this line: "However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay."

You can certainly leave feedback indicating that the seller is drop-shipping, but that is not the only thing you can do.
If the seller is violating eBay's drop-shipping policy -- by engaging in retail arbitrage, for instance -- the seller can be reported to eBay:

If a seller is violating Amazon's rules -- by using an individual prime account for commercial purposes -- the seller can also be reported to Amazon:

I believe that Fulfillment by Amazon is only used only for orders placed through Amazon's site; Amazon has a different program (Multi-channel Fulfillment) for non-Amazon orders, which are not shipped in Amazon-branded boxes. So if I understand correctly, no eBay buyers should be receiving eBay orders from Amazon in Amazon-branded packaging (except possibly from individual sellers recycling boxes they have received).
