Ebay Needs to Mark Item as delivered
EBay indicates a package I shipped still needs to be delivered. Contacted the buyer and he said he received the package a few days ago. Need to have Ebay mark as delivered.

·2 years agoeBay cannot (has no way) to mark it as delivered.
Only the USPS can do this.

OP2 years agoKeep getting the wrong answer from a chat assistant on eBay can’t seem to talk to a real person. Not sure what to do with this

·2 years agoHi @alsvinyland What does the tracking say on the carrier's website? Sometimes there's a delay with the data uploading from the carrier to eBay.

OP2 years agoTracking says it is stuck in the Chicago post office, but I contacted the buyer and he says he received it a few days ago, but eBay still shows has not been delivered

·2 years agoYou need to talk to the carrier to see if they can correct it. eBay goes by what the carrier says.
See here for how it might affect your late shipping rate (e.g. did it get a scan within your handling period; did the buyer leave feedback?): https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/seller-standards-policy?id=4347&st=3&pos=1&query=Seller%20standards%20policy&intent=seller%20standards&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1272#late-shipment Other than that it would be an issue only if the buyer filed an Item Not Received claim.

·2 years ago@alsvinyland Since the buyer says it was delivered, the mail carrier forgot to scan the package upon delivery. That means there will be no delivery data uploaded from USPS, so eBay won't be able to mark the item as delivered.
You would only need to be concerned about this if the buyer claims he didn't receive it and submits a refund request to eBay for item not received. If the buyer does that, you won't be able to prove delivery without that delivery scan, and you would have to refund the buyer. Thank goodness you have an honest buyer!
