·2 years agoYes, it's a SCAM.
If the vehicle is listed on some other website, not eBay, but the seller tells you the purchase will be through eBay --- It's a LIE and the seller is SCAMMING you and your aunt.
Never pay for a boat (or any other vehicle) with Gift Cards. The so-called seller will cash out the Gift Cards and you will never be able to get the cash back when it turns out the vehicle isn't really available.

·2 years agoAbsolutely a scam. You found this on another site, right? Not eBay?
ebay has NOTHING to do with anything you might see on another site. NONE.
AND . . . No legitimate seller will EVER tell you to buy cards to pay for an item. eBay doesn’t even get involved with payments for motor vehicles in any way.
You might have received an invoice that appears to be from eBay, but is really fake. Any phone numbers on it connect to the scammer, not eBay.

Mentor2 years agoDid you find this car on Marketplace or Craigs List? If so, this is a SCAM. Gift cards are not able to be traced and your money will be gone.
