Ebay money back guarantee returns

i purchased an item that was of poorer quality than i expected . item was only finished on one side and the other side was rough , could not be used for what i needed so i requested a refund/return as item was an ebay money back guarantee item. seller refused my requested for a return so ebay told me case closed with no appeal. seems wrong for a money back guarantee item not to be returnable if its not able to be used

If the seller had a no returns policy, and you wanted to return using a buyer's remorse reason (changed mind, didn't like it, found it cheaper elsewhere), the seller can decline the return. If you stated Not as Described, then the seller would have to accept the return and pay for return shipping.
