EBay Money Back Guarantee on 'used' 'as-is' item
I'm considering purchasing an item with the condition listed as "used," but in the description, the seller says the item is sold as-is with no returns. The item also has an eBay money-back guarantee. If I purchase the item and it doesn't turn on and work as intended, would this be covered by the guarantee?

·2 years agoeBay expects all items to work unless the seller has listed the item as "not working, for parts only." Therefore, if the seller has not listed an item in not-working condition, it is expected to be working, regardless of an "as-is" statement. Some sellers don't have the ability to test an item, so fall back to "as-is", but it doesn't absolve them from delivering a working item -- it merely confirms you may have an iffy purchase. You would be covered by eBay's Guarantee and could open a return request for "not as described" if the item arrived in a "not working" condition.
