ebay money back guarantee
I have contacted my seller, and it is clear to me after 3 business days have elapsed that the seller will not give me close to a full refund for a used bike he shipped to me which was damaged to the point of being totaled. I am struggling to get ebay involved since I can't contact a person, and the AI help seems not to recognize that I have a recent purchase. I would like to get ebay to help me if the ebay money back guarantee applies in my case. The seller's original posting said 'no returns', but I feel it is not acceptable for me to not be compensated for a bike that is totaled.

Mentor4 months agoFirst off did you happen to purchase the bike as a guest? If you did then all guest purchases are totally separate from any purchase on your account. You would need to find the confirmation email eBay sent for the purchase and it will have special log in instructions that apply only to this purchase. Then you can open an "Item not as described" case.
Just asking a seller for a refund does not get eBay involved. You need to open an "Item not as described case" before the money back guaranty will apply.
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to open an “item not as described case”. This overrides the sellers return policy. Go to your Purchase History and find the item. Then under “More actions” click on “Return item” and then select the reason for the return as “doesn't match description". It may ask you to attach a photo so the seller and eBay can see what was received. The seller will need to send you a prepaid return label and once the item is returned they have three days to refund you. After this time has passed you would have to go to your payment source to see what help they can give.
