eBay miscalculated shipping for a bundle of heavy items

I had a buyer purchase a quantity of 4 items. EBay calculated the weight correctly, but left the measurements as one item. It leaves me paying an extra $100 for shipping. Customer service is basically non existent. Is this one of those learning moments? Do I have any options? If not, how do I avoid this next time?

Instead of shipping all 4 items in the same package, increasing the dimensions which cause the extra shipping charge, can you ship each item separately? If so, weigh and measure each package. Print the label for the first package, then select PRINT ANOTHER LABEL, and repeat for each of the additional packages.
