eBay Marking Items as Shipped Before They're Actually Shipped
I wish eBay would stop marking items as shipped just because the seller has created a shipping label. Here's an example. I purchased a cell phone 30 December 2022 at 12:58 PM, and the item was marked as shipped on 31 December 2022 at 9:27 AM when the seller created a USPS shipping label. But as of 4 January 2023 at 11:00 AM (four days later), the phone still has not been shipped according to Post Office tracking. It seems that with all the automated computer systems available today, the item could be marked as shipped when the Post Office has updated the tracking as received by the Post Office.

Mentor3 years agoJust as on every other online site I do business with, eBay shows the item as shipped when the shipping label is printed.
It doesn't matter when the item is shipped, it only matters that you receive it close to the estimated delivery date shown in your Purchase History. You cannot take any action until that date passes.
(If the seller shipped the package but didn't get a scan, the next scan may not be until delivery.)

Mentor3 years ago@compuser yea, been a subject of disapproval from sellers for years, old news unfortunately
we can pick the actual shipping date from the drop down menu on the shipping label page
