eBay Marketplace car for sale
I contacted the seller through eBay Marketplace. She replied and said I should contact her via email. I did so, and she wants my address and phone number so she can have the car delivered to me before she can access the money I'm supposed to send her. Here's a couple things she wrote: "Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay services so my presence isn't necessary. … You will have 5 days to test and inspect the car. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money."
Is this legit?

OP2 years agoI meant: Facebook, not eBay, marketplace. Still want to know if eBay handles the payment and if this offer is legit. My spidey sense says, "No."

it is a SCAM.
That is not how eBay works and they had no part in the sale. They do not have warehouses for vehicles and do not process sales from other sites. Once you send the codes for the gift cards your money is gone and there is no way to get it back. To purchase a vehicle on eBay you need to sign in to eBay and complete the checkout process on eBay. The vehicle will be in your Purchase History.

ebay has nothing to do with motor vehicles found on another website. ebay does not have a warehouse, does not ship to you for free to inspect and then ship it back if you don't like it. ebay does not accept ebay gift cards in payment for a motor vehicle.
If you don't find the motor vehicle listed ON ebay, with a 12 digit item number, that you either bid on or use the BUY IT NOW, the transaction is a SCAM. Stop communicating with the scammer. Report that "listing" to the website it is listed on.
