Ebay Mailing Label
Once you've paid for a shipping label can you put the item directly into a mailbox or does it have to be scanned by the Post office? Recently I did this with two identical flat items. One disappeared for 5 weeks and during the ordeal I noticed it said item was not scanned.

Take your package(s) to the counter, have the clerk scan them in and leave with a receipt with the tracking number(s) on it. YOU are responsible for getting the Acceptance scan by the carrier within your Handling time, if you don't then you risk getting Late shipping defects on your Seller Metrics.
