As a very inexperienced member you will not qualify to sell on ebay live. However, you can list items as auction listings on ebay and depending on what you are selling you will probably get a better price using the standard Auction format which allows you to select a duration time of 1-3-5-7 or 10 days, the auction will run. Most sellers list their auctions for 7 days. You can schedule your starting time which will also be the end time for your listing. You want to set that time to catch as many people at home when the auction ends.
Ex: if you live in the Eastern time zone a starting time of 10pm will catch more people at home on the West coast where it is 7pm, so there is a better chance of them being able to bid. Most experienced ebay auction bidders wait until near the end of an auction before bidding. I learned from one of ebay's most successful auction sellers, to start and end auctions on Tuesday or Thursday nights when there are fewer major TV events happening.
eBay will suggest choosing a starting an auction with a low starting bid price, ignore that suggestion! Your starting bid price should be for the minimum amount you will sell the item for, if there is only one bid. You can find trending prices for items by doing an advanced search for your item. Click on the Advanced button to the right of the main Search button on an ebay page.
On the page that opens enter the title you will use for the item Mfr. type or name of the item, model number etc. Then select the appropriate category check the Sold item box then click on Search.
On the results page in the upper left just above the first listing you will see buttons for All, Buy It Now, Auctions leave it on all for the time being, further to the right is (Sort: v ) you want to click on that and select Ended Recently, to get the most current results.
On the results page under the sold item price, auctions will show the number of bids in ( ) If there are a lot of sold search results you can switch between Auctions and Buy It Now to see which selling format got the better prices. If the item sold for more as an auction open a few of those listings to see how those sellers listed the items, Number of photos used, Seller's description, and clicking on the number of bids, will open the bid history showing the start/end time/and date.
Open the link below to learn more about listing items in the auction format. The second link explains the 30 day payment hold ebay will place on your first few payments.

Suggestion: Do not start out by selling high end items. People are wary of buying high end items from new or very low feedback number sellers yours (1). There's also a possibility that a bidder/buyer may try to take advantage of your inexperience to scam you, if you start out selling high end items.
