Ebay labels overcharging
Printed a label this morning using Ebay labels USPS Ground advantage, the package was 8oz. Normally it would be 4.69 to the zone it went to, but Ebay showed and charged me 8.74. It's obvious there's a glitch in the system. I called and a broken English hard to understand rep answered. She said there was a price increase, yes, on 7/13/25, and it was less than 5% on commercial rates.

OP1 year agoThe package is set to custom, 5x6x1 8oz I haven't changed it for 10 years. I've printed 10 labels since the 7/13/25 price increase, and they were charged in a range between 4.44 and 4.74.
I went to my shipping labels page that shows the previous shipped items. I clicked reprint label and 6 out of those 10 went to the 8.74 cost, the other 4 stayed the same.
I just checked all my listings to confirm the irregular box was not checked, it is not.

Mentor1 year ago@g195876 I recommend using the ? mark on the lower right of most pages to report the technical error. This way it goes to the correct department.
Then buy your shipping label on Pirateship.com. They charge the same commercial rates as eBay, the site integrates with eBay too. Only drawback is you can't use pending funds for shipping and have to use a credit card. I know many sellers that only buy labels from pirateship so they can get credit card points.
Your buyers payment for shipping will be sent to you in your payout.

OP1 year agoStill having this problem. None of my listings have the irregular box checked, but when I go to print the label, it shows irregular package and charges 4.00 more. I have the size 5x6x3 on my listings, but the shipping label page shows 1x1x1 and says irregular. I have reported this issue with no results.

You might try revising your listings even though you don't have the irregular box checked your listings have an invalid shipping method of First Class, this MIGHT be triggering the irregular package surcharge since the items can't ship First Class.
If you are NOT using business policies then you can use Bulk Edit to update your listings.
How to use bulk edit:
1. Go to this active listings page : https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active
2. Put a checkmark next to all items.
3. Select edit from the top of the list
4. Select all items again
5. Select edit fields on the upper left> shipping> edit and submit
If you ARE using Business Policies then you go to this page>
https://www.ebay.com/bp/manage
Update the existing shipping policy if you just want the one policy and all listings. OR you can create more shipping policies.

OP1 year agoTried that already, didn't work. All my items are shipped first class ground advantage.
I have changed the size to 5x6x3 and revised it, double checked it does show that size on the listing, but the ship your order label page shows 1x1x1 and shows irregular package.

Mentor1 year agoThere is no such shipping method as "first class" ground advantage. Yes ground avantage did replace First Class but they are entirely different shipping methods.
Try updating your listings to Ground Advantage and NOT First Class.
If correcting the shipping method on the listing doesn't work then my only advice is to charge a flat rate on your listings and buy the shipping labels on Pirateship.com

Mentor1 year ago@g195876. It sounds like the irregular packaging box was checked. Other sellers have reported it happening on their listings.

You can cancel the shipping label and USPS will refund you in about 3-4 weeks on your all transactions page.
