Ebay issued refund to a buyer and said no need to return without a returns request
Summary: A participant started a discussion about an unusual situation with eBay, where a refund was issued to a buyer without the need for a return request to be initiated. The participant seems to be seeking insights or advice on this matter.
Ebay issued a refund to a buyer and said that there was no need to return the item. It then said I failed to respond. I never even got a request for a return. I got a message from the buyer saying that the box was damaged, which must of happened in transit. I said to return the item and I will issue a full refund. No message back from buyer or returns request. 10 days later suddenly get this from eBay saying I failed to respond. How can I respond to a returns request that I didn't receive. So I have lost out they get to keep the item and a full refund.
