Ebay is withholding funds
Summary: eagle34_00 shared their experience with eBay withholding their payment due to an ID verification issue. Despite providing a government-issued ID that matches all the required details, they have not received a resolution or response from eBay, even after multiple contacts. Other participants, including mam98031 and comics-scifi-collectibles, offered advice, suggesting that all information must match perfectly and to check certain details like ACH routing numbers. eagle34_00 confirmed that everything matches and is frustrated by the lack of communication from eBay.
Ebay is holding payment to me because they asked me to upload an ID to my account for selling. (Been Selling 20 years)
Under Ebay guidelines, i uploaded my government issued ID. All was fine for about 10 days. Then they contacted me (Automated) and said they wouldn't accept the ID.
I contested, finally spoke to someone, they said they would escalate the issue higher up and contact me with an answer within 48 hours. Ebay continued to withhold payment, i contested 3 more times. I've never been contacted back. My government issued ID includes all requirements stated by EBAY and matches all information currently on file. NAME, DOB, ADDRESS, ISSUE/EXPIRATION DATE and NON BLURRY PHOTO.
Ebay wont even respond anymore. In my last message with them, I said just forget it as this has went on for weeks and i just wouldn't sell on ebay anymore.
No response and still haven't issued my remaining funds due to me.
What do I do?

Mentor1 week ago@eagle34_00 eBay does require sellers to update and verify their identification periodically. As @mam98031 mentioned everything must match exactly to your eBay account.
You will need to contact eBay customer service for assistance from #3
However I recommend checking a few things as eBay will NOT tell you what doesn't match for security reasons.
1. Verify that the name and address on your eBay account matches your brick and mortar checking account and government ID EXACTLY. I had to had my middle name to my eBay account so it would match my checking account and drivers license.
You will need to provide your SS#. You can not use a PO box for your registration address as seller but you can use it for your ship from and to addresses.
2. Make sure the ACH routing number is the correct one to use for these type of deposits. Verify this with your bank.
3. Contact Customer service
Click this link> https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold?id=4814
Then Type Verify Checking account in the chat bot box on the lower right. (Do not add any additional information)
Then AGENT after the bot responds. You might have to repeat those steps.

OP1 week agoIt all matches exactly. No PO boxes, SSN on file. ACH hasn’t changed in years. I have contacted customer service 2 times. Outlined and showed them via email step by step where my ID matches exactly everything they already have on file. Both times was told they would get back to me within 48 hours. Haven’t had any response.
I don’t even sell that much, mostly small low dollar items.

Mentor1 week ago@eagle34_00 The contact info I shared should take you to a Managed Payments agent instead of general CS. I'd try requesting a call back again.

Mentor1 week agoEbay isn't trying to be difficult with you, maybe not explaining things well, but they have laws in which they MUST comply with now that they are our money processor too.
Your ID must PERFECTLY match your name and address on your bank account as well as your registered account address and name. There can't be anything different. Not a period or initial or anything. They must completely match. Are they a perfect match?
