eBay is sending mixed messages
Sold an item, email says buyer paid and to ship. Before I ship the next morning, second email comes through saying the sale was cancelled for my security and the buyer's account is no longer registered...do not ship.
Third email a few days later says funds were deposited into my account, but my local bank says no funds were deposited.
My seller page on eBay says I am overdue in shipping and to send it out. No "automated" help topics apply and there is no one to talk to. Where do I go from here?

OP2 years agoThis is just a follow up for anyone who cares or comes across this at a later date.
This transaction is a mess, and I have learned some things:
1. Ebay has automated protocalls that do not work in some situations.
2. There is absolutely no one to speak with to get resolution to problems.
3. Even though I want to resolve this, I cannot because there is no way to get answers.
4. There are better ways out there to sell items without this headache.
I spent 2 weeks following the advice of this forum moderator...none of which was correct. Now I have waited another 2 weeks waiting on this forum moderator to respond with ANY answer...They are AWOL. What a joke.

Mentor2 years ago@secretuserid. We are volunteers not eBay employees. While I'd like to be able to fix flaws in eBay's system I can't.
I gave you the best way to contact customer service on FB for Business.
You could archive the order if it showing as sold concerns you, this just gets it out of your view.
To archive go to the sold item on Seller Hub and select archive from the drop down menu next to the item.

OP2 years agoOK, this is getting to be beyond ridiculous. After emails from eBay saying NOT to ship this item, and multiple messages from you saying NOT to ship this item...got an email saying the buyer filed a payment dispute. I can respond, but can only send a response to the dispute if I attach proof of shipping the item...Which I was told specifically NOT TO DO!!!! Why is this so hard??
Can eBay remove their collective head for a minute to just give me a straight answer?? I'll do whatever I need to do to make this right...but can't get a real answer as to what that might be.

OP2 years agoI have now ben attempting to relist this item for a week. Have gotten the same error message that the listing tool is broken...is it really broken? Or is there a different way to relist?

Mentor2 years ago@secretuserid Sorry I didn't respond sooner, been having some health issues that have kept me away from the my computer.
Since you can't relist it that means you will have to recreate the listing from scratch.
To save time so you don't have to take new pictures right click on the photos and select save as... name it something easy to find. The photo will be saved to your download folder, not the pictures folder.
Then you can just add the saved photos to the new listing.

Mentor2 years ago@secretuserid It can take up to 3 days before funds reach your bank after eBay says they were sent.
I am checking into what your next best step should be and will get back to you as I have been seeing more of these types of issues lately. I am however glad that eBay is catching the bad buyers.

OP2 years agoThank you for the help. If the funds do show up in my account, Am I safe to ship at that point? I don't know if eBay can pull them back out or not. If this is a bad buyer, I agree with you on the catching part....if not, I don't want to treat someone wrong who paid me. Thank you again.

Mentor2 years ago@secretuserid DON'T SHIP. Even if the funds show up in your account as the buyer could have been using a stolen credit card.

Mentor2 years ago@secretuserid I just wanted to let you know that I heard back from community staff and they said to not worry about the notices that you are late shipping. The order can sometimes take a couple of days to finish being canceled by eBay.

Then contact eBay customer service to have it removed. The best way to contact eBay about this would be eBay for Business on FB https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness Leave a private message and they will get back to you.
Just to re-confirm as the message said do NOT ship. Do not talk to the buyer if they message you either.

OP2 years agoIt has now been a week since the sale and it is still on my sold page. Still shows late shipment and when I try to re-list, a message says the listing tool has been broken since at least yesterday.
