Ebay is on a downhill path
I've been an Ebay member for over 20 years. Maybe longer? In all that time I might of had 2 transactions that didn't quite work out. Now it's to the point that I will be refraining from buying anything on Ebay. The two things that have caused my frustration are 1) Sellers miss-represent the items location. I use the location feature to estimate how long shipping will take. When a seller list an item 100 miles away and it arrives with a return address 2000 miles away that explains why it took 3 times longer.
2) Sellers place pictures on their listing that do not represent the item you will get. I recently purchased a shirt that many sellers were offering. I chose a certain seller based on the picture in their listing. It showed the correct size of the graphics. Got the shirt and it was just like the poor copies I passed on. I guess Ebay has become like many companies. They've got so big and do so much business they no longer care about the ethics that built their business. All good things come to an end. Goodbye Ebay...........

OP1 year agoThank you for the response. However I believe you passed over a few details here. I have been a member for 23 years. So it makes sense that would be well aware of my options when things do not work out. As far as the shipping topic I gave the example of the item being shipped from much farther than the location of the item was listed as being. I just feel sellers are taking advantage of the loopholes that Ebay has provided. Locations should be accurate, not guess work. Item pictures and descriptions should be accurate and truthful, not a roll of the dice. If an explanation in the description would explain variations then that would be great. Buyers can't read between the lines. In 23 years I've only returned 2 items? Some items are not worth the time and trouble to return. I also think there should be a filter in the search feature that can omit sellers that have proven themselves less than honest so they don't come up in the results. In the future I will be sure to ask more questions and try to save more sellers that deliver what they describe in my saves sellers list. This was never necessary in the past. Again, thanks for the response. Cheers.............

Absolutely! That's why I gave you the link to report the policy violation to eBay. This has always been a policy violation. I'm not clear on what loophole you're referring to.

Very true. This is also a requirement which I why I gave you the method to report this to eBay as well through a return case.
eBay can't act on what they haven't been made aware of.
As for a Blocked Sellers List, this comes up from buyers fairly frequently. You can let eBay know your thoughts by clicking the question mark down at the bottom left of the page. Then click the Send feedback link to describe what you would like to have.

Mentor1 year agoHi @eighthnote74
You've been an eBay member for 23 years. Have you not heard of eBay's Money Back Guarantee? There is a link to it on each listing.
If a seller misrepresents the item location, you can report him here:
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
(Note: Item location is only one factor in how long it will take for your package to arrive. The seller could live next door, but if his handling time is 30 days, you may not receive the item for over a month. A seller with a handling time of one day could live across the country and get the package to you in a few days if he ships with an expedited class of service. When you shop, be sure to look at the estimated delivery date on the listing. If that's too far out for you, keep shopping.)
If you received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. They will force the refund.
eBay has over 2 billion active listings. They do not know the details of every item or transaction on the site. If a buyer encounters a problem, the buyer needs to report it.
