EBAY IS ALWAYS PULLING SOME SHEISTY MOVES
Why and how can or does ebay charge a fee based on your item cost AND shipping? The shipping is the cost to sell the item,it seems that basing their fees on what it cost to sell is bogus.
they already charge for the shipping label...now they will probably take money from MY profit with tax included. they get their 13.6% for the sale how are they gonna charge me 13.6% on the shipping cost? seems pretty faulty to me IDK.

I see your first sale was over a month ago and you are a new Seller.
Regarding this comment you made up thread, " ... i calculated the shipping costs for a same package and eBay charged me more for the shipping ..." please note that we see more mistakes from new Sellers in the area of shipping than any other area.
eBay makes it easy to get signed up to sell but falls short in explaining some of the details on the money end of transactions. You are not first with your complaint nor will you be the last.
Now that you know eBay charges their fees on the Total paid amount as @inceptions outlined you can price your items accordingly.
Looking at your two Active listings is appears that you are using Calculated shipping correct? If so and you are NOT offering any discounts off Retail rates and you are providing accurate weights and dimensions of the items packed for shipping then you should not be seeing your Buyers paying less for shipping than your label cost through eBay, although you do have to absorb the cost of additional insurance for items over $ 100. That out-of-pocket cost can be offset by the Handling cost value you add to your listings.

If you use the Calculated setting in your shipping section of the listing then Buyers see what they owe you to purchase the label. Sellers are ultimately responsible to make sure the weight and box dimensions are correct on the listing so the Buyer pays you enough to purchase the label witn and not lose money. When you purchase the label through eBay they give you a discount and that helps to offset the fees they charge on the paid shipping from the Buyer.

Mentor3 weeks agoHi @er-830181
eBay processes you ENTIRE payment, not just part of it, so the fees are applied to the total payment. When eBay made this change years ago, they lowered the FVF to account for it which resulted in little to no change in what sellers were paying in fees.
eBay facilitates your sale from start to finish, including shipping. They provide you with a shipping discount when you buy your labels through them. They calculate the shipping cost for the buyer so that you don't have to. They post a link to tracking automatically so that you don't have to enter a tracking number for each transaction and/or go look it up on the carrier website.

Mentor2 weeks ago@er-830181 Shipping is a seperate issue to fees and determined by the information the seller enters on the listing.
We can take a look at your listing that had a postage issue if you provide an item number, package measurements and weight of the item.

OP2 weeks agothere is no point when i say "customer is responsible for all shipping costs"...to me that means i shouldnt even have to purchase a shipping label at all!!! unless im reading the text wrong thats how i percieved it.

Mentor2 weeks ago@er-830181 This is how paying for shipping labels works>>
Buyer pays you for the item price and shipping. You use the buyers money to buy the shipping label because you have the item.
If you are subject to fund holds you might have to "front" the money for the label using your back up payment for selling costs or PayPal. Then you wait for the buyers payment for the label in your payout to your checking account with the rest of the proceeds from the sale minus eBay selling fees.

"Why and how can or does ebay charge a fee based on your item cost AND shipping? . . . . [T]hey get their 13.6% for the sale how are they gonna charge me 13.6% on the shipping cost?"
Waaaay back in the early days, eBay originally charged their selling fee on the price of the item alone.
In those early days, eBay did not charge a selling fee on the price of shipping.
To use your own "word" -- too many sellers pulled their own "sheisty" moves.
They listed things like, oh, say, a type of electric fan. They listed the price as $13.79 for that fan AND listed the shipping price as $400.00, knowing that eBay would charge them about 10% (the fee back then) on $13.79 and not on $400.00.
In other words, those sellers were lying.
Those lies were defined by eBay as Fee Avoidance. Sellers would be charged for Fee Avoidance and penalized in various ways.
But there were waaaaaay -- WAY -- too many such "sheisty" sellers.
As a result, eBay redefined how they would calculate their Final Value Fees (FVFs).
The percentage would be applied to the total amount paid by the buyers.
This change in fee calculation happened some 12 years ago or thereabouts, so your use of the word "always" isn't accurate.
BTW, the backgrounds in your listing photos are -- distracting . . . . . . .
