Ebay is a scam.
Okay, so I recently sold a projector screen on eBay. It retails for over $1200. Somehow it sold for 300 even though I had it priced for 500 minimum, but that’s not my issue. I’m not very tech savvy so I assume I just messed something up. Anyways, on top of the 300 I guess eBay determined that it would cost 120 to ship it. Do the buyer paid 420 total. I promptly sent mailed it out and it cost me 190 to ship. Not 120. So after the buyer recieved the screen he complained that it wasn’t what he wanted or what I had posted and that was a lie. So ebay notified me that he wound be receiving a full refund once he could prove he shipped it back to me. Without even speaking to me about the issue or having him prove that it was indeed the wrong item. eBay never gave me one penny of that 420 either. So already I’m just supposed to be out 190 for no reason because this buyer lied. Then ebay is telling me that I owe them money still and at this point I still hadnt recieved my 1200 dollar screen back yet so I was waiting to at least receive that back before I complained. Well the other day I recieved a slip in my mailbox telling me to come to the post office to retrieve my screen and that it would cost me 187 to pick it up to cover the shipping cost. Which is crazy too. But when I get there it’s not even the same brand new 1200 dollar projector screen that I sent him. It’s some old beat up used damaged one. So right now I’m out a brand new 16 foot projector screen that retains for 1200dollars, the 190 I used to ship it, AND some additional fees that eBay hit my account for after the fact. And apparently this buyer has my screen, ALL his money back, and eBay has whatever they charged me, and I only have a broken damaged beat up screen at the post office for the low price of 187 and I’m minus almost 250 cash out if my pocket. This is ridiculous and an outrage and this buyer scammed their system and I’m getting screwed by eBay. They need to charge his card like they did mine and give me the money that it sold for because he kept it. And he can have his old broken one back for whatever the post office wants to charge him for it. That buyer should actually be arrested as well as eBay for being his accomplice in robbing me and my family of our hard earned money. .and then just as the icing on the cake there is no way to contact ebay to even address this with anyone. It’s ridiculous and I’m so upset over this and trying to get it resolved. eBay should be shut down if this is how they do things.
