eBay International package sent and is lost in system
I sent a package to a buyer in Israel. It went to the eBay International hub in Chicago, was processed, then handed off to a French company called Asendia. Since I don't have any tracking info from Asendia, the package was unknown for weeks until I just got a notification (Jan 5) that it was sent via USPS in Chicago again. Heaven only knows where it was actually sent. I was charged for more postage. My buyer is really upset. eBay won't tell me where it is. Does anyone have any clue? Thanks.

OP8 months agoI have already mentioned that to the buyer. He wants his package. I also want him to get his package.
This is definitely a fumble on eBay's part. Both in the shipping and complete failure to provide more information. I am a little surprised, they usually do a much better job of that.

Mentor8 months ago@ivantheterror. Once the item leaves the hub eBay no longer has control of it.
Let the buyer know that getting a refund doesn't necessarily mean that they won't get the item.
Items do sometimes arrive after a refund is issued.

eBay will refund the buyer out of their pocket and you keep the $ from the sale. This a benefit of using the ebay international shipping program.

OP8 months agoGot some news, it made it to Tel Aviv. Now it has been a week in the Israel mail system. Some tracking info would be really nice.

Mentor8 months ago@ivantheterror. The only tracking available is what eBay provides on the sold listing. I know that can be spotty for the international part of the shipment. If it's not on your account then eBay customer service can not find it either.

OP8 months agoNot just the international part. It sat in Chicago being passed around for weeks with no tracking. 😞
I am a bit leery sending things internationally at this point. It shouldn't take three weeks to make it through the Chicago hub.

OP8 months agoIt says expected delivery 2-10 days. It has said that for the last three weeks.

Mentor8 months ago@ivantheterror. Have the buyer file a item not received refund request because before it's too late. The refund request needs to be filled within 30 days of the last estimated delivery date.
Ebay will refund the buyer, you keep the sale $
