eBAY improperly withdrawing my item from being sold
Several months ago I posted a clarinet for sale on eBAY. I finally had a buyer who indicated he wanted to buy it. As we were finalizing the purchase, he indicated he wanted to include a gift card with the clarinet to the person he was giving the clarinet to. He said he would add the extra fee for a gift card to what he would pay for the clarinet, and asked if I would purchase a gift card for him and ship it with the clarinet. I was uncomfortable with this and was concerned about a possible scam. I told the buyer I would not buy a gift card. He then went silent. Though it was never sold, Some weeks later, eBAY took my clarinet off of eBAY! I cannot get it reposted for sale on eBAY! eBAY has not responded to messages I have communicated. Why is eBAY failing to repost my clarinet for sale?? I have messaged them and have not received a response.

You were right, it was an attempt to scam you. This is called ... wait for it ... the gift card scam. What they do is send you a forged notice that you've been paid. It looks legitimate, but it's a fake, to trick you into sending the item and the gift card when you haven't been paid at all.

Mentor2 years agoEnded items are available for 90 days, so we can't see your item. Was it an auction or a fixed price? Auctions relist up to 8 times, if you have selected that option.
If it was a fixed price item with best offer, and you accepted the offer, you needed to cancel the transaction as unpaid, then relist the item yourself.
The end result is that if you want to sell your item, you need to create a new listing.
