eBay holding payout funds for unavailable information
Summary: hunrunkds is experiencing a significant issue with eBay over a $64,000 payout. Initially assured their payment was processed, they later received conflicting messages about their bank refusing the deposit, which the bank denies. eBay has placed a hold on the account, requiring extensive documentation of a past purchase that hunrunkds cannot provide due to the closure of the business involved. Without access to a higher authority at eBay, they're stuck dealing with automated responses and unhelpful customer service representatives, urgently seeking a resolution.
I completed a large dollar ($64k) sale, satisfied customer. eBay initially held my payout but I soon received a note that the payout was transmitted to my bank. The “On Hold” notice was still showing on my account, when I received another note that my bank refused the payout and eBay would try again. The bank says they never refuse deposits, so I am questioning if eBay even did try to send the funds. Regardless of this, eBay now says because the HOLD is in effect on my account they will not release my payout without a lot of documentation regarding my purchase of the material I sold. They want an invoice showing where I bought it, how much I paid, when did I buy it, how was it shipped to me, who did I buy it from, etc. The real problem is that I purchased this material in 2019 through the company I owned, that is now closed. There is zero documentation available, it has all been destroyed or deleted in the closure of our business. One eBay person told me that I will need to wait 180 days to get my payout, but I have nothing in writing to that effect and eBay only communicates through automated responses, which have no bearing on my questions. I need to speak with a human to either get this straightened out or at least get some concrete response regarding if, when and how I will get my payout. I cannot get through to the proper level of human at eBay to have a legitimate conversation, all the low level Customer service people have no authority or knowledge to discuss this and won’t put me through to the level I need to work with.
I need help!!
