ebay holding my balance of $10 for years

Question

years ago ebay required I share my banking info to get "verified" after separating from PayPal. I don't want to share such info so they refused to pay me my eBay balance.

I have given up in frustration trying to talk and text with ebay reps that tell me I need to get "verified" before they can send my $.....I have stopped selling anything on eBay but want my $10 out of principle..... essentially being held hostage to give them my bank info.

how can I get my $?

In the eBay Terms and Conditions:

" Unless otherwise required by law, we will settle any unused retained amounts to your Linked Financial Account within 180 days of your eBay account closure."

How many "years" has ebay been holding your $10?

If it's more than about 2 years, it would be in your PP account, unless PP considered it abandoned and turned the funds to your state.

Have you checked your own state treasurer's unclaimed funds?

If you won't provide your checking account to receive your payment, you will have to wait until eBay sends the money to your state as unclaimed funds.

You can find out from your state - probably the treasurer's office - how long the payment processor must hold the money before declaring it unclaimed. In my state it is 3 years.
