Ebay help is not really helpful yet
Hello, I opted for a deal made by a seller to buy some lights,
but when I went to pay the card was declined by ebay
(it's a gift card that I'm trying to use up the balance which is why I'm shopping).
The lights are only $20
I tried again and again to no avail however after-which I went to renogy.com and purchased solar panels using the same card, later I went to temu.com and purchased some baluns using the same card.
So now I keep getting a threat letter from ebay that looks like this one:

I took screenshots (3 of them); 2 are showing the screen that says my visa gift card is declined and the third image is the receipt of purchase showing the date and time of my solar panel purchase from renogy (using the same card).
Can I attach images to this text box? Oh good, we can.
So my question is, if ebay has a problem why should that problem be transferred over to me or the seller? If damage is caused by denying a purchase, surely the fault does not lie upon me as the buyer, nor should the seller be faulted.
What would Thor do in a situation such as this (better hurry up, my balance is down to 2 digits!).
****ps. In order to attach images here it appears that the images must be online somewhere (they are on my desktop and I would have presumed that ebay would have a means to allow me to meander to the images and upload them to this help box community but... (probably my fault LOL)

As far as I know ... nobody here is familiar with what 'Thor' would do in your situation.
My totally less than godly opinion is that you use your gift card on other selling venues ... and to pay for your eBay purchase with a credit card.

I will absolutely not take your advice today though.
In the past ebay stole over $300+ dollars on a sale I made to an Australian who requested the shipment be shipped via "a real live ship"; long story short it was a loss that ebay caused (even though square trade and paypal both sided on my behalf initially then reneiged.
I don't like being manipulated more than once so I could care less what ebay does about a $20.00 item that was already purchased for 1/3 the price on temu.
Thor would say scr**() your advice when I already stated in my initial premise to this cause that the card is a Visa card (that works everywhere except ebay; no my problem).
And as a final testament to how lame your advice is:
Imagine you walking into a kroger grocery store and being told your cash is no good but the next person's is.
(*hint: replace the word "cash" with "visa card")

If your gift cards were denied as a payment method, you needed to find a different payment method to pay for the items you purchased on Ebay. If you do not pay for your purchase, the seller can cancel the transaction after 4 days of non-payment stating "buyer didn't pay" which gets reported to Ebay.
Ebay has nothing to do with the fact that you purchased the lights elsewhere.
