EBAY grossly under-estimated shipping weight fees.

Question

EBAY grossly under-estimated shipping weight & shipping fees and I am forced to pay the difference.

As I have in the past, I would rather deal Directly with the US Post Office,

and not have EBAY ''Help." When EBAY "Helps" me, they cost me money.

It isn't going to make a difference where you buy your shipping labels, if you don't enter the correct weights and measurements, it isn't going to matter.

I have been selling on eBay for over 18 years and the shipping cost displayed on the listing hasn't been wrong yet when I use eBay's shipping calculator. When you use eBay's calculated shipping, there are no estimates. The discounted cost is based on the parameters you set up in your listing and will be lower than what you'll pay at the post office.

You should be weighing your items and entering the weight and package size in the listing form. eBay has no idea what your items weigh. (If you don't have a digital postal scale, you can buy one on eBay for around $30.)

Since you aren't posting on your seller ID, we can't take a look at your listings to see where you are going wrong. If you provide a sample item, and indicate whether you are using calculated or flat rate shipping along with the weight and package size as well as the to/from zip codes, we can help you.

You are under no obligation to purchase labels through eBay, but if you do, they will cost you less than at the post office.

eBay depends on your providing accurate measurements and weight of the package â€¦ as well as knowing if there is an â€˜oversized packageâ€™ charge to add on.

Youâ€™re free to purchase postage directly from the post office if you wish â€¦ but you wonâ€™t get the online postage discount.
