Ebay giving me run-around about returning a invalid fee, what can I do
I sold an item on ebay. The seller initiated a claim that the product was defective. This started a conversation through ebay betwen the buyer and I where we discovered the item was fine and exactly as described, he was just using it wrong (the situation was analagous trying to use an extension cord that is clearly shown and described to have just a two-prong connector with a device that has a 3-prong plug). So the buyer knew this, but went ahead with returning his payment anyway. He was sent a return shipping label and the item was returned to me. I received the item but had to throw it in the trash because the way he used it may have damaged it electronics and I had no way to test if it stil worked. Ebay reversed the payment that was made to.
I contacted ebay and they agreed the refund was done in error. They restored the payment that was made to me. All was made right. But then a while later, ebay charged me for the return shipping label. Since then I have been in a cycle. I contact ebay, I request the reversal of the return shipping charge, I have to explain the whole situation again, the agent reviews previous notes ebay has on the situation, the agent eventually passes the call on to another agent, I have to repeat story and review of notes again, the agent agrees the chrage to me for the return shipping llabel should be reveresed, the agent passes resolution to some back office and says it will be corrected within 10 business days, and after 10 days nothing has changed. At which point the cycle repeats. This has hapened four times (slight variations but the same basic idea).
This seems to be an intentional system. Delay, delay, delay until the customer gives up. Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to get ebay to stop this charade.
