I have been asked to provide a gift card as payment for a service. Can the last four numbers under the scratch off be used exclusively for redemption?

Any time someone you do not know asks you for gift cards as part of a transaction, you are being scammed.

eBay gift cards can be used to give as gifts or to make purchases on ebay.com. If you provide any code numbers to anyone, they can spend the money on the card and you have no recourse.

You don't use a gift card as a payment for a service. Yes, if you give them the last 4 numbers, all they'll need is the numbers along the bottom of the cards to cash them out.
