ebay gift card only has 9 digits?
i received a physical ebay gift card for christmas and went to go redeem it but there are only 9 digits under the scratchoff area. i didn't scratch any numbers off by mistake, it looks to have been printed with only the first 9 digits instead of the 13 i'd need to redeem a code.
i looked online for help already and saw that a few other people have had the same issue but no one seems to have a fix for it other than "contact customer support" which i have tried to do, but i am only able to talk to the automated agent and it keeps saying that live agents are unavailable and will not give me an estimated time when they will be available.
if anyone else has had the same issue, what did you do to resolve it? i'm going to keep trying to talk to an actual ebay customer support person but it seems like there's been no one available.

OP2 years agoupdate: i talked to a customer service person who looked up the card with the 9 digits that were on it. apparently even though the scratchoff seal was intact when i opened the card today on december 25, it had already been activated on the 11th and used on the 21st, so they said it was probably tampered with at whatever store it'd been purchased from and that's why there aren't enough digits to redeem the card.
since the money that was on the card has already been used, they can't do anything on their end but since the person who gave me the card has the receipt he's going to try to take it back to the store to get a refund.
