It seems it took for ever with many chats and a lot of runarounds . From now I will not deal with the first person to answer a question , go strait to a supervisor for genuine help. For some unknown reason it was required a supervisor to confirm I was the owner of the card ,even though I used the card before on the same account with no problem. No lie it took at least 2 hours total time dealing with ebay drones to get a supervisor to finally fix it so I could make the $20 purchase on an ebay gift card that " never expires ". That's the last time I will be buying ebay gift cards . what a PINTA ! What a waste of time !
Once an eBay gift card has been used to make a purchase, any remaining balance is linked to the eBay account and should appear at checkout as a line item with a box to check to apply the amount to a future purchase. There is no need to enter the card number -- at that point the card is "empty".
