eBay fees on sales taxes and shipping
Is it me or they are practically sucking every last cent out of us for there fees. I sold items for 150 but gets charged best on 177 + advertisement fees which I'm not fussing about. Haven't even paid shipping and my earnings are 117 what's the deal and how is that praticle. Why do they not give you a initial oversight of what it gonna be that would be praticle. I mean you already have all the work of listing the item and doing all that tidius researching why not at least give you that since they are charging so much

eBay charges its Final Value Fee (FVF) on the total amount paid by the buyer, which usually does include shipping costs and most likely some sales taxes. The FVF is a percentage of that total amount paid by the buyer plus a per-order fee of $0.40 when the total is over $10.01. (If the total is $10.00 or less, the per-order fee is only $0.30.) The FVF percentage varies depending on the category or type of item being sold, ranging from 3% for some heavy equipment to 6.35% for guitars to 15.3% for books, magazines, etc.
If you're talking about your most recent sale, the pocket watch that was listed in the Jewelry/Watches category, the FVF percentage is 15%. That's a higher percentage than your other recent sales, which might account for some of your surprise.
