eBay fees , Did I miss that the fees went up ?
Summary: christyodac expressed concern about a 20% fee on eBay, feeling overwhelmed by the costs and uncertain about missing an important notice. Other participants, including krazzykats, clarified that such a high fee might include additional services like promotions, while lady_madonna and comics-scifi-collectibles provided information on regular fee structures and suggested using an eBay store subscription to save on costs. monroe67 reassured christyodac that no notice about a fee increase had been issued and sought clarification on the specific fees being paid.
Fees should not be based on performance or how much you sell . Apparently if you do not meet eBay's standards , even if you or at 100% you get charged an extra sellers performance fee ... live and learn . I've been on here since 2000 and this is a first .

You did not miss anything of the sort,
because no such notice was issued.
This seems important to you as you've posted in two separate Forums in the eBay Community.
What kind of fees do you believe were added?

If you try a store I recommend the monthly rate to start with, the annual contract has an early termination fee.
Buy it Now listings auto renew each month and come out of your monthly listing allotment of 250.
You can relist the ended listings from your inactive folder if you wish to rotate your stock> https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/ended?status=UNSOLD_NOT_RELISTED
The listings will be permanently deleted after 90 days.

OP1 month agoI've looked into that and it's super expensive . Especially for someone that doesn't have a bunch of sales daily . It is not worth it to the average joe trying to make side money . And inactive only sit there for so long and they delete them . Well that what they did to me . They weren't there for long

Mentor1 month ago@christyodac Nowhere am I seeing a 20% Final Value Fee in any category.

If you could provide where you are seeing 20%, could you share that information?

Mentor1 month agoIf you're paying 20%, you must be including extras like promotions or bold text, something along those lines.
Selling fees | eBay

OP1 month agoNo I am not adding an extra . I do not think those extras are worth the money . It had sale price fee, seller fee and a line that just said fee . I don't u set stand the below standard what that means because I have 100 % . I'm assuming that means I don't sell a lot like a business . But I have never seen these extra fees added. I check and these were never there .

eBay is charging YOU an additional 7% Final Value Fee (FVF) because YOUR eBay selling performance level is below standard.
That 7% is in addition to eBay's standard FVF in your listing category, 13.6%.
I now understand why you said eBay's fees are 20%; actually, for YOU, they're 20.6%. Because YOU are, in fact, being penalized.
It's a way that eBay tries to encourage sellers to improve their selling performance levels.
My first suggestion to you is to keep your active listings under 250. The first 250 listings are free of charge. Listing #251 and over will cost you 35¢ each.
