Ebay doesn't honor they're money back guarantee for me.
Summary: jelei_41 reported being scammed by a seller on eBay, where a solar battery was replaced with a small envelope. Despite providing evidence, jelei_41 hasn’t received a refund after appealing to eBay. eburtonlab and eastlaneave suggested opening a "not as described" return request instead of an "item not received" case and provided detailed instructions on how to proceed with eBay's return process. They also advised contacting the payment method issuer for additional recourse if needed.
I was rip off by a seller who was selling a solar battery for $678.00 that weighs in the neighborhood of 300LBs.
I got a email with tracking from the seller that the battery was going to arrive early. The day of the delivery my wife and I stood like idiots with a dolly to move the heavy package into the garage the UPS driver jump out of the truck with a 4inch by 4inch 1 ounce envelope with the tracking number given to me to be the battery. I reported to ebay what happen but they said the package was delivered. I appealed and an agent was suppose to call me and never did. I wrote out and issued an appeal by email. They said they got it and would get back to me in 48 hours. It seven days later and the still have returned my money even after uploading pic of the envelope with the phony tracking , an official letter from UPS stating that the weight of the suppose 300lb package was declared on line as 12lbs. Isn't Jeff Besos rich enough? Why does he have to steal from 71 yo dying artist?

OP5 days agoBut E bay purposely confesses the responses so as to keep funds as long as they can or until you give up asking. It should read, Item not receive if you didn't receive any package at all. Item not received is pretty clear and because I was stupid enough to file a case with PayPal credit. A month latter I still waiting on a refund that will never come.
Oh PS I found another seller pulling the same scam on E bay again. Just look up Eco worthy 16kw solar battery. It should be listed with a buy with no reviews and selling it for less half the price of a new one.

I am sorry that happened!
It sounds like you opened an "Item Not Received" case.
You should open a Return Request. The reason could be "Different from what I ordered > Didn't Match Description"
You will return exactly what you got.
You can open your return request here. Just click the photo and follow the instructions.

-- You can check the status of your case here:

If the seller doesn't provide a refund or a valid return label after 3 full business days; you will be able to Ask eBay to Step In

Do not close your return request until you have your refund in hand. Do not close it because the seller promises you something.

If the item is "not as described" you need to start a "not as described" return within thirty days of receiving it. You will have to provide a picture of the item and a couple of sentences of text about the issue.
If you filed an "item not received" case, the seller wins that by providing a tracking number that shows delivery. You must start a "not as described" return instead now.
If the seller does not refund you or provide a return shipping label you should be able to ask eBay to step in after three business days. The process is automated; if the seller does not cooperate at any point, ask eBay to step in after three business days but before twenty-one business days has passed.

Past thirty days, you may still have some recourse through your payment method; contact your card issuer for details.
