ebay does not investigate properly when there is an issue
i never received my package it weigh 22 lbs but the seller sent a 1-ounce package to a motel and pit on ebay that was sent to my address. now ebay took the word of the scammer but not of a person that has 100 percent feedback ohhh and he is a new seller . if they don't refund my money back i will have my attorney ready to sue them. you can't dispute the postal service information they gave me.

·2 years agoIt is not up to eBay to investigate that, it is up to you to investigate and prove your case to them. eBay will believe the carrier rather than the buyer (or seller). If the online tracking report for the tracking number shows delivery to the same zipcode (5 digit) as what the buyer gave for the shipping address, it will presume it is to that shipping address. That presumption is rebuttable by documentation from the carrier that it was not delivered to that address (the document does not have to give the actual address but merely state it was delivered elsewhere than [your shipping address] since there might be privacy issues). This covers errors by the carrier in mis-delivery (the carrier can tell this by matching the GPS coordinates of the delivery scan with the facts on the ground) and a scamming seller who sends a low value package to another address in your zipcode. See here about appealing the decision if the carrier can document such a problem: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/appeal-ebays-decision-return-missing-item-buyers?id=4039&st=12&pos=2&query=Appeal%20eBay%27s%20decision%20about%20a%20return%20or%20missing%20item%20for%20buyers&intent=appeal&docId=HELP1308

Good advice for dealing with false tracking can be found in the marked solution to this thread:

You can avoid many issues by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.
