Ebay did not collect enough shipping fees
I entered package information accurately, but once the buyer purchased, shipping was nearly double, plus some from what ebay collected. Why is that?

Are you using Calculated Shipping? It is only as good as the information you put into the calculator. It will go my the information you enter plus the buyer's zip code. So if there is an error, there is a problem somewhere in the information you entered.
The about that Ebay collects from the buyer is the amount YOU get paid for shipping. If you have an error, make sure you refund your buyer if it is more than a couple bucks.
