eBay Defaulted Stamp Orders to USPS Ground Instead of Selected First-Class Large Envelope
I sell collectible stamps and always offer First-Class Mail – Large Envelope/Flat as the only shipping option on those listings, since the items are lightweight and qualify under USPS guidelines. However, I had two sales last night where the shipping labels defaulted to USPS Ground Advantage, costing nearly $5 each, even though the buyers only paid $1.50 for First-Class shipping.
Why did eBay’s system force USPS Ground Advantage when the item clearly qualifies for and was listed with First-Class Large Envelope service? This resulted in a loss on my end. I would appreciate clarification and a recommendation to prevent this from happening on future orders.

Mentor1 year agoYou can offer First-Class Large Envelope service, but you won't be able to print the label using ebay because ebay only prints labels that include tracking. First-Class Large Envelope service does not include tracking. You can pay using stamps or at the post office counter.
You can cancel/void the ground advantage labels you printed. The USPS will credit your account in 2-3 weeks after they have confirmed the labels were never used. Then take the envelopes to the post office to use First-Class Large Envelope service.
