eBay deciding to automate payments through PayPal
Hello
Over the years (more than 20 years), l have purchased items on eBay and paid using PayPal On multiple occasions. This was done manually. Ie l logged in independently to PayPal to complete the payment.
Recently l noticed eBay started a payment funsunality and added my payment details in it and automated payments through PayPal without my explicit authorization. I went ahead and removed the bay from automatic payment on PayPal and they continue to do the same.
l am not sure if other buyers are experiencing the same.
Want to do my payment manually. No automation through eBay.
How do l stop this once snd for all.
Also eBay does not seem to have a telephone number to contact them when we are experiencing a problem. ( or is there a number?)
Hope someone will help me resolve this isssue as currently after deleting the payment info from eBay and stoping automatic payment in PayPal, the same scenario is repeated by eBay collecting my info and automating the process without my explicit authorization is not acceptable.

Mentor1 year agoSellers have the option of requiring a payment method be provided prior to bidding on auctions or making offers. eBay uses whatever payment source you may have connected to your account or will ask you to provide one before you can bid or make an offer. Not all sellers have this option set and there is no way in advance to know which sellers have this option set.

-First, is that happening on EVERY transaction? Do you purchase using the Best offer function? Do you bid on a lot of Auctions?
-The reason I ask is that eBay rolled out their Auto-pay feature on SELLING accounts whereby a Buyer has to supply a payment method before they participate in sending or accepting an Offer or bidding on an auction. EACH Seller has the ability to turn that ON or OFF for Offers and Auctions. Buyers will have one hour to change their payment method once an offer is accepted or they win an auction. If not it will be charged.
Here are some pop-up screens you might see if Auto-ay is the issue.

-Request a call back during normal west coast working hours: eBay Customer Service
-Contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.
