eBay decided to throw away our business over two late shipments - which were both shipped & refunded
We have had an eBay store since 2015, with over 2000 positive feedback and fewer than 10 negative feedback in those 8 years since we opened.
Maybe 9 months ago, we had a store with hundreds of listings, but weren't putting much new up due to busy at work issues and then a fire at our home that threw our organization into chaos.
We did fail to ship two items in a timely manner (out of four sales that month,) which resulted in us being suspended, and restricted to 20 listings, despite our paying the $59.95 per month for a Premium Store (usually this was more than we made from the store -- we were just not paying enough attention to that illogical choice.)
I spent months trying to work to lift this selling limit, still paying $59 per month for the store, but 20 listings is meaninglessly small when you're used to having 500-1000 items up every month.
Finally, I closed the store, paid the $119 early termination fee and the $59 fee for that month in October.
Fast forward to 20DEC2023 -- eBay sends me an email yesterday saying restrictions have been lifted - I get excited to re-open, only to find that we can now list just 37 items.
Why would eBay turn away a seller that NEVER ripped anyone off, gladly refunded those who asked for refunds, paid eBay $720 a year for store listings, (plus commissions on every sale,) and never had any improper sales of any kind? Just two packages that shipped late (but were shipped and delivered, and 100% refunded as well.)
The email yesterday gave me some hope we could re-list the hundreds of items taken down by eBay. Now I discover they have deleted those listings completely, so I have to start all over from scratch, and THEN I find that the email is a lie, and we can only list 37 items -- not 250 like even the most basic of sellers, despite 8 YEARS of positive feedback from customers.
Seems like there is no one to talk to about this, so I'm posting this here, and giving up.
--On eBay since 1999, and still a customer.

Mentor2 years agoHi @beckatastic
Lifted means raised, not removed. Hang in there, get your items listed and sold. The sooner you do, the sooner your limit will be lifted again.

Mentor2 years agoYour story is very similar to mine. I had a premium store years ago. I had 3 packages that I left on the post office counter. They were never scanned as accepted. Since then I always stand in line and make sure my packages are scanned in. I was restricted to 10 listings per month. As my listings ended, they could not be relisted, so eventually they were all removed as they approached 90 days. I listed items for $5 with free shipping so I could increase my sales to improve my percentage and decrease my defect rate. I sold 7 items the first week, but had to wait until the new month before I could list another 10 items. Meanwhile, I am still paying the premium subscription fee. After many months, I was finally an above standard seller. I did not renew the premium store. Instead, I downgraded to a basic store.
