eBay contact seller - issues
Hello! I bought an item from a seller. The item arrived, there is no issues with the item, but I have a question which seller might be able to answer. So, I select option "contact seller". There are 2 choices on the page: "This is not about the item" and "Enter item number". If I select "Enter item number" and provide item number (or if I select "contact" option from my history of orders - in which case the item number is autopopulated), and click "continue", I get a red error message saying "The item number you entered isn't correct for this seller. Please try again.". If I select the first option, "This is not about the item" and click continue, it redirects me to another page where it says "Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later.".
So, I don't have any way to contact this seller. What can be done in this situation? This seems to be a eBay's bug but there is no way to report it or get any kind of support for it. Please help!

OP2 years agoThanks everyone. Unfortunately, nothing helped. eBay has a bug and there is no way around it.

Check the shipping label on the package, package invoice if it came with one, or even your order details. Sometimes there are phone numbers printed on them for the buyer/seller. Not always, but its worth checking for.

Mentor2 years agoAre you using the eBay app or a browser? If a browser, mobile, classic or desktop mode?
Try another browser to rule out a browser issue. Or another browser mode.
Try starting from another page to send a message. If you tried through the original item listing, try using one of the seller's current listings, or the contact link on the seller's feedback or profile page.
If the seller is no longer registered, you will not be able to contact the seller through eBay.

OP2 years agoThank you for the reply! It does not look like a browser issue. I tried using Google Chrome, Brave and Edge browsers on Windows. The seller is registered and has other items on sale. this is the seller's page: https://www.ebay.com/str/cash4electronicsdenver. When I try to "contact seller" I get an error message, whether it is for my specific item (which was sold and no longer on sale), or trying to contact without specifying the item ("This is not about an item"), or another item on sale. I tried contact links on seller feedback and profile pages. Not sure what to do from here. Is there a way to contact eBay technical support?

Mentor2 years agoI get the same error messages when trying to contact the seller, so the problem is not on your end.
I tried different browsers and contacting the seller via ebay.ca with the same result.
Perhaps the seller does not accept messages -- not all sellers do.
Try contacting the seller using the eBay app, if possible. Using the app I was able to get as far as composing a message without getting an error message.

OP2 years agoThank you for the tip. Unfortunately the Apple eBay app works exactly like the web site and gives me the same error when I try to contact the seller.
