Ebay complaint
I recently sold a watch. It was new in its original box, never been worn by anyone. It was old stock, and the battery was run down. I had it replaced. I thoroughly inspected it prior to shipping. I have pictures of it.
Even though i sold it as, "no returns", I received notice from Ebay, that the buyer said it was damaged on arrival, and that I should refund the buyer his money per their policy. I had, at my expense, the buyer send it all back. It is damaged, including it original packaging. For example, the small "pillow" the manufacturer had the watch resting on appears torn in several places, almost like a dog chewed it. And the leather strap was torn away from the watch. I have pictures of this too. Oh, and I ofter to send the buyer a brand-new strap for the watch. He refused.
The value of the watch is, in my opinion, now gone. It is unsellable as is. I could buy a new leather strap for it, but there is no way that I can replace the original packaging.
The bottom line here is I had to return the buyer's money, will likely will get a bad review, and left with a worthless watch.
Thanks for hearing my rant.
I understand what Ebay was trying to do with this policy, but feel they need to protect sellers from what I believe is an unprincipled buyer.
