I recently just received a piece of mail from Ebay Commerce Inc/Ebay tax department regarding my TIN and stuff. I haven't made a singular sale and also in the mail its a physical W-9 form? the address to return the mail to is 2145 hamilton avenue san jose, CA 95125. it even has a line of text saying account number and sum numbers/letters after it.

Mentor5 months ago@ilytoka This sounds like you may be the victim of identity theft.
You can report the identity theft here>

Freeze your credit reports so that the scammer can not open credit in your name.
You can contact customer service to report it too but I am not sure that eBay will be able to do much. It doesn't sound like your eBay account was hacked but your identity was used to open a seller account. IT's still not a bad idea to go through this check list in addition to calling customer service.

Here's my advice to help secure your account:
#1 Run a full scan with your virus software to remove any spyware from your computer.
#2 Go to my eBay> account>personal information and make sure that all information is correct including your cell phone number, registered email and ship from and to addresses.

#3 Change your password My eBay> account> sign in and security

#4 Secure your email account.
Be sure to use different passwords and secret questions on eBay and your email. Do not use these passwords on any other account.
Hacked accounts often start with a hacked email account.
#5 Calling is the only way to report hacked accounts for security reasons.

#6 For extra protection consider turning on two-step verification>

#7 Unlink all Social Sign in methods and change your passwords on those accounts too. The hacker will be able to use the social sign in links to sign in to your account again if you do not disconnect this option.
