Ebay collected sales tax

Question

What is the process to get Ebay to verify they are collecting the proper sales tax? My zip code's combined (state/county/local) tax rate is 7.75%. Ebay is collecting 8.25% on ebay purchases I make.

Also you need to remember that in most states the sale tax is charged on the entire transaction shipping included.

eBay collects taxes based on zip code. If your zip code splits a rate, then be sure that you include zip+4 in your purchasing address. Also be aware that a PO Box may be in a different tax zone that a delivery to a physical address, and that the tax is based on where the item is delivered.
