Ebay closing cases and refunds buyers too quickly when the post office fails timely deliveries.
I had a small patch that was sent uninsured from PA to FL. The buyer reported it had not arrived in 7 days. By the 11th day Ebay auto returned the buyers money.
In the meantime another buyer who I sent patches to the same day just received his patches on the 11th day. That was a delivery PA to PA.
Failure of the USPS is on the rise. Does anyone know if Ebay is reviewing the return policies with protections for the sellers in the wake of the USPS failures? If the package is a small amount and not worth the $7.50 parcel postage rate, should Ebay extend the wait time before returning the buyers money because the seller loses every time in this scenario?

eBay is already generous with the estimated delivery dates. I rarely EVER have a late delivery (usually caused by severe weather or a rate misrouting). I can probably count on one hand how many I've had in 21 years. I know others have experienced more than that, but I've shipped over 70,000 items and I am very pleased with USPS.
If you aren't shipping with tracking, you don't know whether the item is late or not. You only know the buyer is opening a case. eBay gives you a few days to prove delivery. If you don't, eBay will automatically refunds and you'll earn a defect on your selling record. Claims for non-receipt will always be higher if you don't ship with tracking.
