ebay closes case by seller's decision and states that decision cannot be appealed

Question

I bought 2 memory sticks that the seller listed as new, but they turned out to be used and defective. I opened a return, with attached the photos of both defective strips. But a case was immediately closed by the seller. Ebay.com says that the decision cannot be appealed. What should I do?

I just realized, the only thing that might explain this would be the timeframe. When did you receive those RAM sticks? Was it more than 30 days before you filed the case?

Quite frankly, no, I'm quite surprised by what you've copied and pasted there, there doesn't seem to be a good reason. I can't see the links you provided since they're specific to your account, but there doesn't seem to be a reason listed for why the case was closed, unless it's just missing from what you posted.

Definitely reach out to customer service on this one, though I'm hoping they won't be similarly limited in resolving it. Only they could help you, though.

Sellers cannot close cases opened against them, only eBay or the buyer can do that. What reason did it give for the case being closed? In fact, what reason did you choose when you opened the case?
