Ebay charged me twice on a refund!
USPS lost a package that eventually became delivered. I refunded while my funds for that sale were on hold. Ebay then goes and charges my bank account for that refund instead of the on hold payment. Then Ebay says they "Released" the funds for the refund! How can Ebay charge me twice for the same refund? The buyer said he will send me a check for the refunded item but its not here yet. Where did my original now "released" payment go? Its not in my pay out hold.

OP2 years agoI spoke to a Ebay CS person and figured out the issue. Apparently, Ebay did infact do a pay out shortly after the buyer won the item. I didnt notice this pay out since the funds were on Ebay's "Hold" funds untill it had its tracking as delivered. Nearly 4 weeks later, the buyer asked for a refund so I approved it the day he asked. At that point, E bay released the funds. My mistake was I thought Ebay held the buyer's payment with the Hold on them but no, they sent them to the pay out as well early yet still list the funds as on Hold. That doesn't make sense to me but thats how they work it.
