Ebay changed my user id without permission

Question

I have an ebay user id with hundreds of positive reviews, ebay changed my username id without my permission, how can I get it changed back? I have tried "My Account" numerous times to try and change it back but it just keeps telling me that username is already being used. How can I get it changed back?

The account you are posting with was created in 2024 and has two feedback for purchases in the last six months, and has left one feedback over a year ago.

Most likely you inadvertently created this account by signing in using a social media account that was not already linked to your original eBay account.

Make a note of this username and how you signed in, then sign out of this account and try signing back in using your original username and password.

Ebay does not change your user ID. However, if you let the ID expire without use, after 30 days it is up for grabs by someone else. Need more details to comment further.
