eBay can’t see USPS tracking, so I will get unstoppable demerits in 91 days, when it is “too late”

I hate it here and I want a cease and desist letter from the lawyers or to be invited into the focus groups. it is torture doing it right and being punished. eBay has been decades of torture and AI is not making it better.

OP2 months agogoogle.ai hallucinated a solution: pretend to edit tracking numbers, save the unchanged updated number, refresh a minute later. eBay wasted hours and hours working on this on my behalf and never shared a viable workaround, but I suspect that they occasionally employed that exact method on my behalf, one request at a time, secretly. that was a wasteful month. I hate it here.

OP4 months agoa few are now showing the fake midnight USPS transit “scans,” changing my shipping dates to those lies instead of when the shipping occurred. more than half are still having the original lying issue, so of course it took hours to update my “tech support ticket” details with the fresher’s misunderstanding, hear the fake “supervisor” argue against my situation, then get the real next level agent to wrap their attention around any of the web of issues toward anything fruitful. (oh, I almost forgot the triaging transfer-only agent that I had the pleasure of discovering today, between the fake and real supervisors. yay?) eBay has been decades of torture and the paths for true solutions seem to be three:
-for the whole time, I have belonged in the focus groups — let me help
-draft and issue a permanent cease and desist — ban me
-send goons

-it does look to my buyers like I refuse to drop off their shipments after giving tracking numbers
-eBay has sent them all secret proprietary emails about this issue that I may not read
-the issue is known to be affecting others of an undisclosed scale
-my reputation will take a hit
-eBay’s reputation will take a hit
-the damage to my account will not be deserved
-attempting to prevent the damage via custy service inquiries is being punished
-I may not know what phrasing in my interactions specifically transgressed abuse policies
-the way I have been abused is not fair
I agree with some of these assessments. did they ever fix the thing where no matter the browser/device combo I cannot update my credit card information (due to broken CVV-field scripting on the multiple different pages that used to be able to allow users to accomplish such changes) to make purchases on eBay? taking off my seller hat, I can’t say that the buyer in me is impressed that purchasing is thus blocked. I degrade my reputation by maintaining maniacally mafioso money-making monopoly membership. goon it up for the playoffs, corporate!

This all sounds very frustrating.
If you are purchasing your shipping labels at the counter, you need to manually enter the tracking number right away... within your handling time.
If you enter the tracking number after the item is delivered, it is tricky and may take some time to update.
USPS tracking and eBay tracking sync periodically, but it is not 'live'. USPS tracking will say delivered, and then eBay will updated. Sometimes if I see a discrepancy, I will refresh my screen and that solves it.

OP4 months agoI enter the numbers and eBay thinks I forever still need to drop the packages off. refreshing reloads the page. the syncing never occurs. eBay is broken, as usual. my shipping speed ratings will automatically fall in 91 days. then they will all blame my inaction. there is no action to take. they emailed me an abuse warning with nothing referenced specifically. maybe the Steiner story is verboten.

I wished they’d just fire me. tell me I am banned for noticing. punish me for suffering. eBay is torture which stories of eternal damnation couldn’t represent. I hate it so much that it is inspiring.
hey — what are the First Amendment restrictions around here? am I free to use words to describe my experience, or is that also auto-transgressing?
I am ready to move on to the step where eBay sends threats via the USPS, and sends goons from corporate security to my family’s home to criminally intimidate us, like they have done to kind families of users previously. bros, at me come.

Many people make a similar misunderstanding. If you actually read the First Amendment to the Constitution, you'll see that it says "Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech . . ." Private businesses and parties are free to impose whatever standards they like, even after the SCOTUS ruling that the amendment applies also to state governments.

If shows delivered there AND your sold item has a tracking number but is just not updating on eBay then I would try contacting customer service on Social media in a PRIVATE message> https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
If it is NOT updating on the USPS site but the package is actually delivered then I would file a missing mail search which will make the tracking update correctly.

OP4 months agoit is the first of your scenarios, not the second. USPS has had proper valid active tracking for days, but eBay system shows them waiting for me to drop it off. three shipments in a row are like this, after I had a few doing the same nonsense a month or so ago. after enough time goes by that it becomes “too late, too bad, so sad,” the 5.0 shipping speed will drop to 4.9 automatically, not from any legit manual review, just through broken-system torture. resolution seems to be to deal with the damage. eBay custy service and supervisor (twice through) were like “oof, yeah… good luck!” they “put in a ticket,” which does nothing for my issue of getting unearned demerits by doing my parts correctly. eBay is always like this and I hate it. I want them to fire me from their monopoly.

Mentor4 months ago@trudatman Are you getting the packages scanned in at the counter? Also there's an issue that if you go to the post office too quickly after printing the label USPS may consider it counterfeit at first.
USPS is flagging legitimately purchased eBay shipping labels as "counterfeit" or "unpaid" due to a system glitch when packages are dropped off too quickly, often within 30–60 minutes of printing. A new system update is causing this "not paid" error, leading to packages being seized. Wait at least 30 minutes to an hour after label creation before dropping off to allow the payment to validate, according to reports in the Reddit r/Ebay community

OP4 months agothat is unrelated, as I do not print anything, despite eBay’s old “business center” phrasing. they should provide us with compatible devices or something. stand-alone, not implanted, which would be kind of like the printer I am trying to grow.

Mentor4 months ago@trudatman It also applies to eBay shipping labels purchased using the QR code. The counterfeit error is NOT an eBay issue, it's a USPS issue.
If you are buying your labels at the post office then you are paying much more for shipping.

OP4 months agoI am paying “much more” for shipping without further eBay involvement. it is easy, human, physical, delivering. my local USPS does not take QR codes. at least eBay does generate a code for return “labels,” finally. for years that was another euphemism they had. I still have to travel further to use those, but it is within reason compared to buying return postage for not-as-describeds and eating those costs, too. all of the “much mores” added up don’t buy the gas for trips to use eBay codes for sales going out. did I mention my frustrations? they are many and they begin with eBay. do they end? sometimes some of them do. I hold hope for this glitch, assuming it isn’t intentional. we should all take a moment to watch the scene early in Robocop where they demonstrate a terminator for executives. the AI counting continues despite my eager and earnest compliance. or maybe you do not remember me from last time.
