Ebay canceled a sale for security
Hello,
I sold an item via auction on March 30. The buyer paid on April 1 and I shipped it the same day. As per the tracking information the buyer received the item on April 3. I received the payout to my bank account on April 9. Today (April 25) I received a message from Ebay that the bid was cancelled:
We wanted to let you know that a bid for the listing below was canceled because of an issue with the buyer’s account:
XYZ
We understand that this must be disappointing, but unfortunately the buyer, ABC, is no longer registered on eBay so we had to cancel all of their open transactions.
Here’s what you should do
- Don’t complete the sale or ship the item to ABC if you haven’t done so yet.
- Don’t communicate any further with ABC, especially if they get in touch with you outside of eBay.
- If ABC requests a payment or refund, don’t send any money without contacting eBay first. If payment was processed, a refund has not been issued yet just in case you’ve already shipped the item.
- If you already sent the item, contact the shipper to find out if you can stop the delivery and have the item returned to you.
- If your listing has ended, you can relist your item.
What will happen next? Can I ignore the message because the transaction was essentially complete more than 2 weeks ago (I believe the only outstanding step was receiving a feedback from the buyer)?
