Ebay Buyers Protection Coverage. Is it a joke??
I purchased some items from a buyer that was advertised as new. Upon opening the boxes, one could tell that the items had clearing been used. As a result, we cannot use the units in our products.
In filling out the form for the buyer's protection refund from eBay, you have to provide the sellers email and phone number, or the form will not submit. If anyone has ever tried to exchange an email or phone number over eBay, you know that it is prohibited. I entered my phone and email to move forward.
There was a selection box to select a reason for the claim. No matter what you choose, when submitting the form, you get an error message saying you did not choose a reason in the box even though I obviously did.
This goes on for 10 tries then you get a message saying that you have exceeded the allowed number of tries and you have to try again tomorrow.
Am I wrong to assume that everything above is purposeful and that the buyer's protection is a scam given the above?

Unless this was heavy equipment ( tractors etc) then the seller listed in the wrong category to avoid items qualifying for the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
Please share just the item number not the sellers ID so I can assist you further.
