eBay Buyers beware of the Seller No-Return
BEWARE eBay Buyers - you may wish to purchase elsewhere. Most Sellers are now listing their items as No-Returns. This may not be obvious on the original item listing. This means if the item eventually arrives defective or or otherwise not as described, there is no way to complete your Request for Return and action the eBay money-Back guarantee refund.

If the system will not let you open a not as described return within 30 days of receipt, then there is a technical issue - it is not a policy change. I just tried starting a return on one of purchases that was no returns, and I had no problem.
I would try contacting customer service for assistance. Use the link at the bottom of this page and type agent until you get a link to request a call from customer service.

The seller’s return policy, which is always visible below the pricing and shipping, only applies to buyer’s remorse reasons - like I changed my mind, or it doesn’t fit.
You are always covered by the money back guarantee when the item does not match the description, arrives defective, empty box, etc. You must select a ‘does not match the description’ reason for return.

OP2 years agoSelecting the "Does not match description or photos" doesn't matter. Actually none of the return reasons matter; the form refuses to release the greyed-out "Continue" button, regardless of adding photos etc. This is obviously a change to eBay policy that they ae keeping quiet. I'm just warning - check that there is NO "No-Return" if you want/may need to return an eBay purchase.

Mentor2 years agoebay's Money Back Guarantee trumps a seller's no return policy if the Item is Not as Described. The seller will be required to supply a prepaid return shipping label for the item's return =OR= send a full refund and not require the item to be returned. The seller will have 3 days to do either. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you go back to the Returns Request and click Ask ebay to step in. ebay will then refund you, and you do not need to return the item. Seller will then receive a defect recorded on his account for an unresolved transaction.

OP2 years agoThat's exactly what I thought the policy was. And well within the 30-day window. But I tried to return the defective item (photos and all) and the Request for Return form does not release the greyed-out "Continue" button. Try it on one of your purchases (without pressing the "Continue" of course, if you don't get it greyed out).
